There will be a change in the formulary category for the drug Esomeprazole (Nexium) for both tablets and injections to Special Formulary.

What does Special Formulary means?

Is there any alternative to this medication?
Yes, our pharmacy can offer Omeprazole 20 mg Capsules and Pantoprazole 40 mg both Tablets and Injections as an alternative.
They are under the Standard Formulary and hence patients can obtain them from our UMMC's Pharmacy.
