Based on the outcome of the Drug and Therapeutic Subcommittee Meeting (Bil. 1/2018) held on 12 March 2018, there will be a change in the formulary category for the medication Imipenem 500mg Cislatin 500mg Injection to Non-Formulary.

Suggested alternative to this medication is Meropenem 1g and 500mg Injection as their formulary category remain unchanged.

What does Non-Formulary means?
This means that if patients are being prescribed on this medication, the medication is not readily available in UMMC and they will have to purchase it from other retail pharmacies apart from UMMC.
