Post date: Jan 28, 2019 9:22:44 AM

Pharmacy Department has successfully organised Quality Improvement Project Workshop last Saturday, 26 January 2019 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm at Conference Room 1, 13th Floor, Menara Selatan. The participants for the workshop had been divided into four groups and four facilitators had also been assigned to each group to assist them in planning out their project.

As the quality improvement is being defined as a systematic approach to the analysis of practice performance and efforts to improve performance, the participants were briefed on the sequential steps towards implementing quality improvement by dedicated speakers. All groups which had been divided in accordance to sections were asked to identify the problem within the section and synthesis a strategic framework to improve the performance by conducting a project.

Three main objectives of this workshop:

  1. To introduce quality improvement flow, i.e. identify problem, root cause analysis (RCA), methodology, strategy for change/intervention.

  2. To familiarise with basic quality tool, e.g. Ishikawa diagram, bubble chart.

  3. To encourage strategic teamwork approach.

All groups had managed to present their project proposal although they were relatively given such a short time to brainstorm and gather many ideas. A hearty congratulations to Group 'LOGIC' for winning as the first place in the proposal presentation. In essence, the knowledge gained throughout the workshop is the most valuable and hopefully this workshop has become an eminent stepping stone for instilling continuous quality improvement of the services and sections in UMMC Pharmacy Department.

Congratulations to Group 'LOGIC' for their winning in the QI project proposal!
