The transformation briefing highlighted several key initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and service quality within the pharmacy department. The event covered the relocation plans of the Outpatient Pharmacy and PharmUMMC to KPPL, as well as the automation of medication dispensing at both the outpatient pharmacy and within hospital wards. Additionally, major renovation projects were discussed. Ultimately, this transformation will lead to improved workflow, reduced waiting times, and enhanced collaboration among taskforce teams, elevating the overall quality of pharmaceutical services within the department.
‘Bag Your Meds’

Project ‘Bag Your Meds’ by Team Green Initiative, Pharmacy Department UMMC is a dedicated rack that has been placed at the side of the tunnel (next to PharmUMMC) to collect recyclable or paper bags for patient use.
Through this initiative, patients and staff are encouraged to donate clean, reusable bags to the rack. These bags will be made available for patients who need them—helping reduce single-use plastic waste and promoting a culture of sustainability.

Pharmacy Department Hari Raya Celebration 2025

The gathering is a joyous celebration of the diverse festivals observed by the Pharmacy Department staff, including Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, and Deepavali. In the spirit of unity and cultural appreciation, all staff wore their traditional festive attire or other respectful and modest cultural costumes to the event.
Run For Clean Sports

Run For Clean Sports 2025, a collaborative initiative between the Universiti of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and the National Sports Institute (ISN), was successfully held at Stadium UM Arena, Universiti Malaya.
More than just a typical running event, the programme carried a powerful message about the importance of clean, drug-free, and ethical sports. Drawing over 400 participants from diverse age groups (including adults, children, and senior citizens), the event received overwhelming support from the local community.
In addition to the run, the programme featured interactive educational activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of prohibited substances, the critical role of sports medicine professionals, and the responsibilities of athletes in upholding the integrity of sports.

Appreciation to the UMMC Pharmacy Department By The Ministry Of Health Malaysia During The National Level World Pharmacist Day 2025 Celebration.

In conjunction with the World Pharmacy Day at the national level in Putrajaya, the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has given appreciation to the PPUM Pharmacy Department for their effort in producing medication instruction videos in Malaysian Sign Language.
These videos have been upgraded with audio to benefit visually impaired patients in addition to hearing-impaired patients. The certificate presentation was officiated by the Honourable Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health.
Currently, these videos are being used throughout Malaysia.
