In UMMC, Thalidomide is an oral medication used in the treatment of Multiple Myeloma (cancer of white blood cells).
Other medications of the same class as Thalidomide are Pomalidomide and Lenalidomide (unavailable in UMMC).
The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) advises Healthcare Providers to carefully screen their patients before prescribing this class of medications.
Patients should likewise make their doctors aware if they have the following conditions prior to starting a Thalidomide Class of medications therapy:
